Olympic Song - Carry The Flame

Posted on Friday 29th June, 2012

Olympic Song - Carry The Flame
Dear Friends

A few months ago I was asked to write an Olympic Song for the Olympic Torch Relay.

I am delighted to announce that the song, 'Carry The Flame' has just been released as a Single!

You can buy the Single now on iTunes or any good download store, or straight to your phone by texting TRACK FLAME M to 80818 (for £1).  It is raising money for Whizz-Kidz, a wonderful charity who enhance the lives of disabled children with fantastic wheelchairs.

'Carry The Flame' is an epic and upbeat reflection on unity and achieving greatness together, across boundaries, emphasising the strength of communities coming together.  Its positive outlook and message hopes to inspire listeners in the run up to the Olympics, and could potentially become an unofficial anthem for the Olympic sentiment!

So spread the word to your friends, invite them to the facebook event, and request the song from your local radio station! Whizz-Kidz is a great cause and I hope you love the song :D

The Song will also be performed when the Olympic Torch reaches its final Norwich Destination, at 5pm on Wed 4th July in Chapelfield Gardens, for those of you in the area.  I will be performing with a diverse array of local performers as 'The Pulse' to open the Ceremony.  A selection of Norfolk's best performers were chosen for the performance in a series of X-Factor style auditions and Bootcamps, from a range of ages and backgrounds.  They will be performing on a diverse array of instruments, from Rappers and Beatboxers, to Celtic Hammer Dulcimer and Japanese Taiko Drums!

The Single has an epic performance by Guitar George and Production by TLGB.

Can't wait for you to hear it!

Thank you :)

New Music News Review

Posted on Wednesday 9th July, 2008

Ok, so right now I'm feeling over the moon.  I just got back from the Mastering Session for my new track and a rehearsal for our gig at the Houses of Parliament next week, and I found a link to this review in my inbox...

MUSIC-NEWS.COM, By Ollie Cornish

"There's been a rush on at the moment, a rush to find the next woman singer songwriter.  To my mind, none have come close to being as emotionally involving or genuine as multi instrumentalist Juliana Meyer.  ...none of them have such sublime music backing them.

Juliana's debut 'Holding Up The Sky' begins with 'Bridges' a truly heart-warming song, full of unconventional melodies, clever lyrics and a truly wonderful chorus that refuses to lighten its grip on your mind, 'Cost of Temptation' is equally as instant on the ears.

The quality of the music on this album is simply divine.  Juliana is a genuine talent, her songs divert the mind from the pressures of life and let you sit back and enjoy the moment.  Her lightness of touch and deft musical mind has created some magical songs.

Quality music pour out of Juliana in such an effortless fashion 'Making Profits Selling Rockets' is a funky critique of Capitalisms hypocrisies, the jazzy 'Explosive' takes time to get into but its worth every second.

'We're all the Same' is a haunting, dreamy end to a gorgeous album.  'Holding up the Sky' is rich in instrumental and vocal ideas and all of them work.  Juliana has made an album that will make you weep and laugh at the same time.  Let Juliana make your summer complete."
